5 songs in very basic form, none of them usuable in any way whatsoever. But being able to listen to them today has really helped.

Pine City Motel Blues is WAY too fast ... as is true with a lot of the songs.

Just being able to listen to yourself is really helpful. The recording doesn't need to be good, just catching the performance and seeing what works and what doesn't.

I want demos that I feel I can play for anyone ... or put on the mp3 page ... They're still going to be pretty basic, but I want a little better than I did today.

Still, for the first time through with the new mikes, I think they sound pretty darn good, already better than the last CD

If the raw sound is good, just keep playing til you get a keeper. Don't worry too much about high fidelity. The best album i've bought recently sounds downright raw, but the performances are amazing.
