I have gone from listening to

Steve Goodman (I need more, got the Anthology last night)
to
James McMurtry (I need to get a couple of his songs to the folks at Riverfolk)
to
The Benny Goodman Orchestra (the complete 38 Carnegie Hall Concert)

And now ... The Sex Pistols

Is it any wonder why the wife didn't want me to get a CD changer?

(and a winky button to anyone who gets the song reference in that last sentence, Tony Fletcher is disqualified)

I have all my music ripped to mp3 format specifically so I can shuffle through the entire ecclectic lot. I think we would be at home in each others music collections. :)

Yay James McMurtry! I'd love to hear [livejournal.com profile] chasophonic do a couple of his songs. How's about we teach him "Song for a Deckhand's Daughter"? I think a ballad like that would really showcase his voice and guitar. :}

You know, i actually play a couple of his songs myself... "Too Long in the Wasteland" and "Vague Directions". And i should learn "Poor Lost Soul". I dunno if Chas has ever heard me play them, tho.

This is true...i never did. but you linked to it once and i took it freehand. i sucked...but if i hadn't been listening to xrt since the early 80's, i would have far more than that. think i got like a 20 or so. would have done better on the rutles if only i'd remembered some of the names a bit better. names are my weak point. always.
