The weekend

ericcolemanI spent the weekend running around ... it was a blast .. but man I need about 20 hours of sleep now ...
Friday I went to a house party for Howard Dean ... and a local candidate who I am not too fond of ... interesting ... an amazing house in the middle of nothing ...
saturday I went to Des Moines for various Howard Dean rallies ... it was a blast ... I learned a new phrase that I will use a lot

I got to meet some nice folks ... one of whom sent me the poem I posted earlier ... Melissa Etheridge was supposed to be there ... but her plane was late ... still the speeches were good ...
I skipped the big event later to go to a function at the wife's work ... it was a typical work dinner and back slap ... and I found it horribly boring ...
We went out for awhile later ... but I came home early ...
I went to play sunday night as usual .... it was a good set ... got an extra song (someone cancelled) and probably could have gotten away with another if I had been able to see past the lights in my eyes ...

and one more that I can't remember ... it was a good set ... got BIG laughs on Trophy Wife ... but seemed to lose the audience after that ...

His campaign is inclusive ... no one else's seems to be ... he dosn't do all the badmouthing that you see everyone else doing ...
He says things he means ... I don't see a lot of politic speech ...
He has stated (and I think he is the only Dem to say this) that if he does not get the nomination ... he will support whoever does ... no one else seems to have the balls to say that ...
and he knows how to run a campaign ... I got letters months ago ... calls ... I know the local folks who run things personally ... no one else has come out to see me ... we have gotten two phone calls from other candidate's people ... one from Gephart and one from Edwards ...
he states very clearly ... "I am not going to solve all your problems" ...
I suppose that most of all ... he reminds me of Harry Truman (who was the last GREAT president IMNSHO) ... Harry did some things that I don't agree with ... but he told you WHY he made them ... Dean is like that ... little or no bullshit ... and that is so refreshing ...
