Monday I had my heart scan. The first look at it was called Grossly Unremarkable. No immediate problems. We’ll see what they say when a closer look is made, but for now it’s looking good.

It does mean that between us, we have had about 6 grand worth of medical bills so far this year, and I am not done yet. My doctor wants a sleep test done, to see how bad my apnea is. The last time I had one done, when I got to meet the Queen Of The Cult Of Sleep, it was mild. I think they will find that is still true. I have a bad night here and there, but generally I sleep pretty well.

We’re getting ready for Demicon. My hands are not in great shape, but nightly rehearsal means they are improving rapidly. We have picked songs carefully. Only a couple of fast things, and none of the really fast right hand palm muting songs. I do intend to have a couple of those back in the set by Icon in October.

And yeah, our next show is in October. That’s a long ways away. I want to be performing again. I’m looking for something local, and may have a lead. We’ll see.

In the meantime, after Demicon I want to get back to re-writing some of Callenwood, and working on Shifting City. We have a lot to do.

offhand idea: around here there's a Make Music Day in June, where the city (I think) organizes a day full of live music played all over town, in venues and outdoors, by professionals and amateurs, for free. It didn't start in Madison; it's a much bigger thing. Does any town nearer to you than Madison participate?

Ah, none in Iowa, but there's also one in La Crosse, Wisconsin. And Chicago!

Hmm, maybe time to put a bug in someone else's ear to start one in Iowa somewhere, for next year? It's a cool thing.
