I adore sausage (especially link sausage). However, bacon? O versatile, salty & well-preserved meat, how I love thee!

I love both, of course, as I adore most meat products, however it seems that sausage is far easier to screw up than bacon ... or at least I would assume so given some of the horrible things I've seen done to sausage.

You know, I've got three pounds of thick hickory smoked bacon in my freezer for the Solstice celebration next weekend. I just hope I can make myself 'forget' about it this weekend ...

This is not an easy one. It really depends on the kind of sausage and the crispyness of the bacon. Crispy bacon rules, though.

Sausage doesn't count as food (and lesser cuts make me ill), while bacon is a guilty pleasure. In my rasher moments, I go for Canadian Bacon.

But it has to be English-style bacon, please. None of this American crap.

Dishonest John was making julienne fries to go with the bacon, and so used a Julian calendar. Or something. Nyah ha ha. Exit, stage left...

Bacon. Always bacon.

*breaks into song*

My bacon, tis of thee,
flat meat from pig hiney,
of thee I sing.

Meat that my grandma fried,
and momma microwave - ied
cholestorol be defied,
Bacon is King.

and yes, I just made that up.

In any situation where I'm being asked, "bacon or sausage?" bacon wins hands-down, without a moment's hesitation.

However, one of the finest substances ever to be derived from an animal is the sausage on an original Pizzeria Uno pizza (only as served in the dining room at 29 E. Ohio -- crap pseudo-pizza from franchise stores need not apply).

Sausages wrapped in bacon!

(I'm so gonna keel over from a heart attack someday.)

BOTH!

Top quality bacon is better than top-quality sausage, though. And bottom quality bacon is better than bottom quality sausage. But there's a tremendous grey area in the middle, where sausage might trump bacon.

duly noted. You realize, I expect you to finish the lyrics with me over a beer (and Bacon!) someday, and then perform it.

I would do it myself, but I have no musical talent.
