i'm going to say, as a general rule, with notable exceptions, and all appropriate caveats, that the classic rock crowd is the larger consumption of miller light drinkers.

generally, when i think "classic rock" i think Led Zepplin, AC/DC, Def Leppard. anything the guys i went to high school with would listen to while taking apart their cars.

when i think "punk" i think of stuff i want to listen to. :) (the Ramones, the Clash, Nirvana, i suppose Rage and System of a Down would also count in my book...most anything played during the x-games) although i still remember the interview where Alice Cooper referred to Brian Wilson as one of the originators of modern punk.

I was commenting on "What's the difference?" For me, the big difference is based on what you consider to be "classic rock", which definitely depends on when you started listening. I started listening long enough ago that punk isn't "classic", it is "punk". Which one you prefer is still a personal preference. :)
