Fwiw, I've found that a Mac makes a more acceptable platform to run windows under - as a virtual device. I loves me some Mac - Parallels goodness.

I dearly loved my Performa, it gave me everything I ever never needed and then some. I do miss it. However, PC's have always been there for me too and have never let me down. In this house I have to pretty much select "PC" and "Linux" for poisons of choice. ;-)

My husband cohosts the "RetroMac Podcast". We are a very Mac-friendly house. I hadn't used a Mac before my husband but after 8 years of pointing out every single instance in tv shows/movies where Macs are on the screen and all the instances where Macs are used in entertainment and business *and* an Apple laptop for one anniversary and an iPod for one Christmas and various maccoutremonts for other special dates ... I've been worn down. Ooops, I mean won over. We have about 30 of them in the house, maybe more. I call it the Mac Shrine.

What's really funny is our house on a Saturday night. Everyone brings their laptop so there's 10 or 11 people in our house and all but two of them on a Mac. (We do talk to each other - but we also spend a lot of time showing each other stuff on YouTube...)

It's good to be easily amused.

Wheee! I had one get used! Yay!

I had to pick Mac if I want to keep my computer support peeps happy. One in particular. :D Plus I'm learning to really love my Mac rather lots more than my PC. I get aggravated with the work PC much more than with my Mac, although there are some things that I am so accustomed to doing on the PC that I get annoyed when I can't do them on the Mac.

I'm amused that the numbers are so evenly divided.

My husband has a laptop which has all three systems, I believe. I know it does both Mac and PC.

My laptop and the kids' machines are PCs because that's what our games and critical software require.
