Every day, it's like the people in my office have never seen weather before, and it amazes them.

I'm told weather has a major effect on the brain-impaired.

Not as such; but I have a LOT of experience at dealing with the brain-impaired.

You should see them in Southern California when it rains, or better still, hails. You should NOT try to drive here under those circumstances however. Aieee, you would think the sky was falling!

Maybe they're uncomfortable with interesting topics, whether due to office politics or to a lamentable lack of enjoyment of more interesting topics?

Brain impairment (inborn or induced later in life) does have the lamentable effect of making such people uncomfortable with topics interesting to those of us who actually enjoy thinking!

Weather is awesome.

I'm biased - I lived outside of Dallas. A few Neighbors to the right and left, on top of what passed for a hill in that part of the world and smack in front of us was eighty acres of rolling cotton fields and sparse lots of trees.

Watching the weather roll around a landscape like that is awesome. It wasn't a constant parade but every few weeks a storm would roll by and .. wow.

Weather in Wisconsin .. not so much. But there are more trees here and I live in what passes for a suburb so my view isn't quite as grand as it once was.

On the other hand, weather behaves like it's never seen the people in your office.

Snow. I am unamused. I can handle rain; that's why there are umbrellas, and my happy little crocuses like the rain.

It is freaking SNOWING.

Amazed? Nope. Ticked.

What amazes me is...the fact that we can have what, a week between snow and people freaking forget how to drive? Seriously?!

*growls*

I had a friend from SC in college. He thought Minnesotans were the bravest people on earth. He'd never been to North Dakota I guess.
I love all weather. Except maybe super hot. 95+ for a week gets to me.

Also, I love not working in an office. :)

Yes... I've heard stories from a couple different people from Minnesota/Wisconsin about being down in that part of the country and taking their cars out, completely unimpressed by a light snowfall, only to be pulled over by a cop who lectured them on how reckless they were to be out in such weather, then saw what state their license was from and told them to carry on.
