I decided to pull some quotes out on some things I have watched (or wanted to watch) recently. Take a guess. There are some movies and some TV.

-----------------------------------

1- You know how it exhausts me to teach books I haven't read.[livejournal.com profile] shsilver - Butley

2 - Time counts and keeps countin', and we knows now finding the trick of what's been and lost ain't no easy ride. [livejournal.com profile] braider - Mad Max - Beyond Thunderdome

3 - I knew daredevils, and I ain't got nothin' against them, it's just they're all dead.[livejournal.com profile] jermynsavile - The Stunt Man

4 - This is what I call a timely interruption! Though what'll come of it - the devil himself only knows! [livejournal.com profile] shsilver - Captain Blood

5 - This place smells worse than a pair of armored trousers after the hundred year war. 1/2 point each [livejournal.com profile] catalana & [livejournal.com profile] jermynsavile - Black Adder II

6 - There are five stages of love. The first is denial, then the second is sex, then there's acceptance, then there's divorce... and then there's more sex, if you're lucky.[livejournal.com profile] nekhochan - Quantum Leap

7 - But, as a famous person once said, "You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time." And as I - another more famous person - once said, "If you don't teach them to read, you can fool them whenever you like." [livejournal.com profile] shsilver - Max Headroom

8 - And that was only one of the many occasions on which I met my death, an experience which I don't hesitate to strongly recommend. [livejournal.com profile] mplsfish - The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

9 - A naked American man stole my balloons. [livejournal.com profile] 1phish2phish - An American Werewolf In London

10 - Look what you did to my shirt. [livejournal.com profile] shsilver - Maltese Falcon

Well, 5 sounds like something out of Black Adder, but I've no idea about any of them, really.

Number 3 has to be The Stunt Man, which is a great film that is greatly under-appreciated.

Drew a blank on the rest, though I feel I should know 1 & 4 as they sound like my kind of film...

1. Butley (Great quote, but the best Alan Bates movie is "King of Hearts")
2. One of the Mad Max movies. I'd be more specific, but they're all the same.
4. Captain Blood
7. Max Headroom (but I prefer Frewer in Doctor, Doctor"
10. The Maltese Falcon (a perfectly meaningless, but nevertheless, great film).

And I mean the one with the kids at the Oasis and the whole "Wait! One of us will come!" line. I think it's the first.
