The ever so fabulous Lojo Russo is appearing at The Ritual Cafe this friday the 22nd in Des Moines. Highly recommended. While she is a brilliant serious songwriter, she is one of the few people who have reduced me to hysterics with a song.

Lojo is amazing.

One of the first times I met her, we were sitting in a song circle. Someone on the other side was being indecisive about what he was going to play next. Being impatient, I started playing the main part of the Peter Gunn Theme on the guitar. She picked up her mandolin and played the horn part, it was so much fun.

I have a live recording of the two of us playing Hides together ... also way fun.
