Jumper

They are making a movie of one of my favorite books, Jumper by Steven Gould.

I've liked all of his books (the sequel to Jumper was kind of weak though).

I do face this with a little dread. Hollywood and SF novels don't tend to get along well ...

Update "Fight Club" scribe Jim Uhls will rewrite a script by David Goyer; production will begin in spring.
I went to college with Jim, worked with him quite a bit. He was very good friends with my brother ... weird

I found the sequel first (book discussion), and I liked it better than the first book. There was more grounding in real life, which gave time for the characters to develop a little more. Neither one was bad, though, by any means.

The only thing that worries me about the movie is finding out whether Hayden Christiansen can act. He was rather wooden in the New Star Wars films, but that could be the director's fault (and the horrible dialogue didn't help).

This director, well, I really liked "Heist," though I didn't watch more than a couple of episodes. (The last thing I needed was to start following another TV series.)

I found the second book to get a little tiresome. Yeah, we get it, he's being brainwashed. A third of that could have been cut and been effective.

Steven Gould? As in the writer who wrote for Natural History Magazine? Isn't he dead? I don't see him having written fiction...maybe that was Stephen Gould...spelling is everything.

here is the book in question. Steven, and as far as I know it is not the same person ... but I could be wrong. He is quite alive.

LOL Wow...definitely not the same person! LOL

I liked the writing of "my" Gould...although he was a majorly egotistical know-it-all jackass sometimes. But I don't think your Jumper would be up his alley. LOL Could be wrong...it happens sometimes.
