i have met quite a few people through Star, and even more people that i *should* have met through Star, but i met them long before i met her.

If she's not the exact center of the universe, she's very, very close. :)

FOAF: Friend Of A Friend. The concept, if not the acronym, comes from how Urban Legends spread and predates LJ, but is a very useful technique when you can just click on one of your Friends' Friends list. I go foafing every now and then, to see who my friends find interesting. Have picked up on some connections that way, and an occasional Friend. The two of you, who know each other and have a mutual LJ Friend in common, are pre-foafed.
