04 Is there anything you can do, DOCTOR, I mean, seeing as how you've lost over 200 million patients? exapno seems to think that this is from The Omega Man ... ya know ... that's right.
05 There has been a malfunction in Project Flashlight with devastating results. shsilver seems to think that this is from The Quiet Earth ... ya know ... that's right.
06 Cassandra in Greek legend, you recall, was condemned to know the future but to be disbelieved when she foretold it. Hence the agony of foreknowledge combined with the impotence to do anything about it. cjfringe seems to think that this is from 12 Monkeys ... ya know ... that's right.
07 Well, I've been to one world fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing I ever heard come over a set of earphones. jabber seems to think that this is from Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb ... ya know ... that's right.
08 Keep behind me. There's no sense in getting killed by a plant. selenesue seems to think that this is from Day Of The Triffids ... ya know ... that's right.

The first set ran very long, as there was much conversation with the audience.

After the show I headed toward Chicago. I already talked about the hotel I had friday night (I will stay there again if I have a similar weekend).

The trip through WI was fun. I did verify one thing. Exit 52 is the place to be. There are all the basic necessities of life there. Yes indeed, Cheese Curds, Fireworks & Porn. I'm working on a song about it.

The Dells are bizarre ... everything is something ... AND a waterpark.

I had a very pleasant dinner with controuble at Pita Inn. Then I headed on to Joliet. I was going to stay somewhere in Chicago saturday night, but much whining ensued so I gave in and went to Chez Dork instead.

Had a pleasant place to stay, even if it wasn't as nice as the one the night before. Then Sunday afternoon I went to some sort of ceremony that involved born_to_me & gundo. There may be something about it in their LJs ...

It was lovely. A perfect day, kids ran around berserk, adults ran around berserk (and that was just the wedding party). I managed to get through it without tearing up (like I usually do at weddings).

We hung out at the house after, and Toyboat worked out just what songs we intend to learn ... it's gonna be ugly folks.

I had a marvelous weekend. Congratulations to the happy couple. And it was so nice seeing all the folks I saw this weekend.
