Reissues

So, I'm annoyed. So many record companies have done the reissue thing right. The Jam box set is one great example. They took pretty much every studio track and put it in the box. There was an earlier rarities disc, and they didn't double anything from that. Smart. Easy. They figgered that most fans already had the earlier disc, we did ...

Now let's go on about folks doing it WRONG !!!

I love the English Beat and am about to spend an Amazon gift certificate to get their complete output. It's simple. They only put out 3 LPs in their very short career. The reissues are the british versions, so some of the single tracks that ended up on the US LPs are missing. I guessed that and figgered that they would be on the Best Of, you know, to get you to buy another CD. They are ... minus ONE FRIGGING SONG !!! For that I need to go track down a long out of print best of CD. I can buy it on Ebay, but ... who wants to buy a CD for one song?

Yeah ... me ... like it's a surprise that I am obsessive about these things.

So does anyone have the What Is Beat? compilation CD? I just need one track off it ... grumble

and don't get me going about the Joy Division box set ...

I'm putting together the demo disc now. The final tracks are

Hey Dad (demo from the upcoming CD)
How Can I Miss You? (Live, from the Highway 61 Folks Festival 4th Annual Songwriting Contest CD
Color Of Your Eyes (From Some See The Glass Half Empty)
Bang My Bald Spot (From Some See The Glass Half Empty, I decided to go with this rather than Trophy Wife due to the Dr Demento connection)
Hides (also from Some See The Glass Half Empty)

Thanks to everyone who voted, commented or otherwise helped out. I really appreciate it.

Now let's get the cover designed so I can send these out.

I haven't seen Gary in years, but this makes me sad (that he is going through this) and very happy (that so many brilliant musicians are getting together to help him out.

Go support this.
