Doctors orders!

I just went into the warehouse with my bouzouki and followed doctor's orders!

My right wrist can't deal with much of anything fast at the moment, at least not for very long. I know how to cheat my way through a few of the faster things, so I can cope. My hands are doing fine over all. It feels so good to play.

While I've never endured surgery, I've done lots of PT/OT and wearing elastic contraptions for tendinitis/arthritis/etc., so I can sympathize, and reassure you that things most likely do get better. In my case, I've been doing exercises for years now designed to strenghten muscles to compensate for joint deterioration, and it works well for me.
