For me this is no contest, at least Godzilla 1998 is kinda fun.

For me, not contest as well, but in the opposite direction. However, its worth noting that I saw King Kong when I was six, and had a much lower crap threshold than when Godzilla came out and I was 28. :)

Agreed-- and Jessica Lange is totally friggin' hot in it.
Godzilla was one of the worst and stupidest pieces of crap I've ever seen. I rank it up (down?) there with Batman and Robin

But it's so gleefully idiotic

That may be the right frame of mind to watch it. I hated that Godzilla kept changing size and how it turned into Jurassic Park at the end.

i liked them both.
In all fairness, i haven't seen the King Kong 76 version since i was in my early teens... it's possible my opinion on it may have changed.

Godzilla 1998 had me when they showed Godzilla swimming a river ... and he had the same 'tail as an oar' motion that alligators use.

Okay, today I vote None of the Above. For so many reasons, including which I've seen neither one (that I can remember re: KK'76).

King Kong at least kicked the crap out of a giant snake and did some damage. And there were no army of 'little kongs' running around.

King Kong was such a parody of itself, it was fun to watch.
Godzilla was a jumble but unlike the Toho product, it was a
boring
jumble...

I noticed there was a Son of Godzilla, and did a google search for Jesuszilla. There are apparently quite a few of them.
Sorry, no answer on poll, have not seen either film.
