What is your favorite song with the Bo Diddley beat, or variation thereof?

Mine is probably Moving Away From The Pulsebeat by the Buzzcocks, although I Want Candy by Bow Wow Wow is awfully good.

I love the guitar playing on BWW's version ...

I was watching The Last Waltz this weekend, and watching The Band and The Hawk rip through Who Do You Love was, as always, awe inspiring.

I haven't heard Quicksilver's version in years, wonder if I have it?

I'm partial to the garage version of Who Do You Love by The Woolies...and Iko Iko by the Dixie Cups (coke bottles and handclaps on top of a Diddlish beat - infectious).

After more-or-less growing up on Who Do You Love by The Woolies, I was blown-away some time later to hear Bo's version of hoo doo you love. It must of been one of the songs that did not make it too oldies radio, and their it was, on a 45 in a collection of 50's 45s I borrowed from an aunt to tape.

I admire the man for lots of reasons, not the least of which is the savvy self-irony he wore as easily as a guitar in the "You Don't Know Diddley" and "Bo Knows" ad campaigns of a few years ago.

I can't decide between "Not Fade Away" and "Who Do You Love," but I do think the latter tune is overdue for a raid on the filk room, especially in the midst of a run of Gothic ose...
