Ya know

Windows Vista isn't QUITE good enough to suck ...

Oh ... did I mention I have a new laptop ... it's going to my tech wednesday for her to burn this piece of crap out and put on XP Pro ...

Track 12, Oh Dear FSM ;)

Ooh, good luck, hon. One of my coworkers got a new laptop with Vista on it, and tried to put XP on it, only to find that the company hadn't written any drivers for much of the laptop hardware that worked with anything earlier than Vista. He's stuck with it now.

What I have heard about Vista:
it sucks. It sucks a lot. It has no compelling new features. It sucks. It's shiny, but it sucks. It has DRM components that will suck your processor dry and give you the user no benefit. And it sucks.

And don't forget that Vista is designed, and Microsoft claims the right, to turn your computer into a brick if you connect any hardware or run any software that they arbitrarily decide they don't like. Microsoft has always been evil, but Vista is many levels more evil than they've ever been before.

Vista sucks. Really sucks. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind bogglingly much it sucks. ;)

(apologies to the late Douglas Adams ;) )

We bought a new laptop for the new guy a couple weeks ago which had Vista on it. After struggling with it for more than a week trying to get it on our network, and being told by HP that we had to apply a patch to EVERY OTHER COMPUTER ON OUR NETWORK to get it to work, we returned it. They got him a demo unit which was still running XP. It was the only XP machine left in the store.
