The great battle is over

The board of directors gave in. The homeowner says that "the board of directors of the Loma Linda Homeowners Association had apologized, called the incident a misunderstanding and had withdrawn its request for the wreath's removal."

Yes indeed, they misunderstood how much people would make fun of them nationwide.

Bob still deserves the Foreman Award.

Well, people typically *choose* to join HOA's, or to move into the jurisdiction of one. The lady with the wreath was a past president of the HOA, so it's certainly a government she approves of and condones... and probably either helped make the rules, or certainly enforced them during her tenure.

That having been said, calling a peace symbol "divisive" is laughable at *best*. There's a reason there's no HOA in the neighborhood we live in... [livejournal.com profile] gundo specifically chose one that didn't have an HOA.
