The great battle is over

The board of directors gave in. The homeowner says that "the board of directors of the Loma Linda Homeowners Association had apologized, called the incident a misunderstanding and had withdrawn its request for the wreath's removal."

Yes indeed, they misunderstood how much people would make fun of them nationwide.

Bob still deserves the Foreman Award.

I have pretty good second hand experience with HOA's. My father is the president of his HOA down in FL and I've had an HOA up in WI as one of my biggest customers for the last 3 years. In FL the law specifically allows the HOA's to essentially establish local law within their community. They can't break any Local, State, Federal laws, but any guidelines that they establish have the weight of law behind them. I know it's nuts. And this community in WI... they actually have an enforecable rule that prohibits a resident from putting a satellite dish on their house. It "Affects" the beauty of the neighborhood or some such crap.
