eric-coleman.com expired last September. I hadn't done anything with it in a couple of years, so I let it go. Someone bought it in November and my old front page is there. Nothing else, just the old front page.

Not weird. Two things going on:

1) They're keeping just the basics up, probably from the Internet Archive, in the hopes that you realize it expired and contact them to get it back. I think you should do this to find out what they want to charge you. I'm going to guess $5,000.

2) They're taking advantage of the existing Google search ranking to get ad revenue.

Ahh yes, there is an ad at the bottom now. The page doesn't show up at all on the first 5 or 6 pages of google now, so it isn't doing them much good. I am going to resurrect the website at some point, but not with that link.

And yeah, there is a guy who owns cheshiremoon.com who wants a grand from us. He isn't getting it.
