That book meme
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence. [I took a lead-in partial sentence to be #1]
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.
I received a cryptic telegram in Aurora, Illinois:
A winky button to whoever can tell me what this is from.
I figger there are at least three of you who have a very good chance.

Eric's winky button whoever can tell me where this is from.
(I bet nobody guesses correctly. Heck, I couldn't and it's the closest book at hand. Good thing I don't do "meme"s.)

Okay, the closest books to me are... a chapbook from my horror writer's group, the HP Lovecraft "A Very Scary Solstice" songbook, a mini book called "Feng Shui for Dummies" and... oh, this one does have 123 pages! It's only got 3 1/2 sentences on the page though... Um, what else? A hint book for Dungeon Siege II? Naah, got mostly pictures. Aha! Found a book!
Many of us, though, are not scientists, so please forgive the brief words of explanation that follow.
If you need a hint for this, it's the first book written by the Hugo award winner for Best Novel in 2003. Oh, and um, I've kinda been neglecting the LJ community I'm supposed to be co-moderator of...
Cool hand
