MeMeMe (getting the old Hobson's Choice in shape)

Stolen blatantly from [livejournal.com profile] twoofdtm

Some of you I hardly know at all, but you friended me and I thank you. But here's a thought: Why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she wears mismatched socks." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this...especially those who rarely or never comment. Yes, even you people who I know really well.

My name is Amy, and I have an enormous, unexplainable fascination with camels. My life felt all fulfilled 'n shit when I got to ride one last fall. Now, I can die happy.

I'm a tatter (i make lace), and have even developed a couple new (basic) patterns of my own...nothing fancy, but still :) I can Make Pretty Things :)

Wanna Talk About MEMEMEMEME Occasionally...

We've never met. I've never hung out at a comic store where you and another one of you that wasn't you worked together. You've never spent the night in my house. You've never held a house concert at our house. I've never taken pictures of you at a house concert. You've never slept in the same bed with my wife at a concert. You bastard! ;)

Oh. And I'm never sarcastic. Or cynical.

I'm Shoebox, and I'm a tasty tropical topical analgesic in a cloud of cones.

Um... okay, we stumbled into each other's LJs, and decided to friend each other. What was it I was saying? Oh yeah.

I'm a whiny emotional person who doesn't post anything for 2 1/2 weeks, then puts up a 6 page rant without using LJ cuts.

You replied, "Yes, but you do it so eloquently!"

:)

No, wait. That still describes most of the people on LJ (except some of them don't do it so eloquently, and some actually use LJ cuts).

Um... jeez, I've got the maximum 150 interests listed on my profile. There's gotta be SOMETHING we have in common! How about pulling the wings off buffalos?

I really like french fries dunked in a chocolate shake. Mmmmmm.

I'm Tom, and I currently have the most requested song of the year so far on the Dr. Demento Show! Come visit my web site...

*ahem*

Sorry. Had a bit of a Luke Ski moment there.

I'm 42, a housewife from Pomona, I have 4 lovely kids 3 boys and a girl, and I like to play bridge and canasta.

or...

I'm this semi-sarcastic, obnoxious guy originally from NY (Okay NJ really), we've worked together on Cap, but haven't ever really talked much. Oh yeah... I'm also in the running for Class Clown.

My name is Teresa. A lot of people call me Tess. We met at a Con because you thought my baby boy is gorgeous & sweet (which he is, of course).

Fun Fact about Teresa:

My brother was 17 when I was born. I was 17 when his son was born. His son was 21 when my son was born.

A thing or two to identify me

I'm Nate, and for the last 32 or so years I have had an absolute fascination with left-handedness and the whole phenomenon of laterality in general. Why do the overwhelming majority of people prefer to use one hand rather than the other, and why are "lefties" so totally outnumbered by "righties"? What does this tell us about the basic workings of the buman brain? Why are there twice as many righties among men as among women, and why are there more left-handed people among alcoholics and first-born children? And by the way, many people know that I believe very strongly that people who are born left-handed should play left-handed stringed instruments (or, in the cases of my beloved wife Louie and my old friend Kara Dalkey, regular electric basses flipped over). And while you're talking about mismatched socks: I wore mismatched socks from abou age 15 to 32 or 33.

Nate

I'm Sarah and I really do wear odd socks.

A slightly more interesting fact about me is that although I love Stella Artois it doesn't seem to get along with my gut so I'm looking for a new drink of choice. Any suggestions?

I'm Paul! I'm the guy who (like you) is a big fan of both Sparks and Beat Farmers. I live about two miles from Da Yoopers World Headquarters and we were chatting on AIM when I found out that I was accepted to graduate school.

Bow before me, I am royalty

According to the genealogy my aunt presented me with a few years ago, I am a descendant (about 20 generations removed) of Henry II of England. I'm a Plantagenet (or a millionth part anyway).

If everyone knew their family trees that far back, I wonder how many of us could make similar claims?

I prefer music I know the words to. I like accoustic folk because I can usually understand the words if I am there live so more likely to listen to it. But I also love the ramones - it is much more know/understand words then type of music

I occasionally run roughshod over LJ, commenting rampantly all over everyone else's journals, then disappear for days or weeks on end.

I used to write music. It pains my slightly to state it that way, but I literally have not touched a guitar in at least two years. Perhaps that will change again someday. It was never central to my identity, but people said I was good at it, so it seems worthwhile not to summarily eliminate it from my list of hobbies.

And I'm moving to Florida in August.

I'm Carrie, and I eat Boca Breakfast Patties almost every night. I have four boxes of them in my freezer right now.

I'm john, I'm 40, I'm probably genetically inclined to be an alcoholic but I'm not. (i have an insanely high tolerance for the stuff and if i go more than 3 or 4 months without drinking (which is usually par for the course) i start feeling crappy....drink one or 2 drinks a night for a week and i'm good for another 3-4 months)

I have this amazingly cute, bright, social daughter named Megan. I like card games and board games. I used to be in a cult. It was really mostly fun and felt really important. It is generally thought that I was rescued from the cult. Nope. I walked away. I was rescued from the profound isolation and desolate emptiness of not replacing it with anything when I walked away.

I *love* Ramen. I eat it *ALOT*. I really shouldn't. But I can't help myself. It's so damn GOOD!!!

I am deathly afraid of the dark. Will start bawling if I'm not in light shortly thereafter.

I am Guido, hear me roar.

I am only a week behind on LJ right now. Often I'm almost 2, and trying desparately to keep posts from scrolling off the bottom of my friends page before I read them. I can also be an obsessive completist, which makes it all the better. (Did you know the friends view only goes back 2 weeks? You do now.)
