It's been a weekend for them ... first congratulations to phuphuphnik & theaspins on their new little one ... I can't wait to meet her

Congratulations also to chirosinger & musicmutt on their wedding. It was lovely. The whole day was amazing. I will write more on it tomorrow. I'm exhausted, but in a pretty good way.

A quick tangent

I have to say how touching it is when the best musician I know questions about whether what he was playing was appropriate during a song. markiv1111, I have never known you to do anything that is not appropriate. I have known a lot of players with a lot of chops, some (and very few) with even more than you. But beyond that, what you have is the ability to listen, and to find what is appropriate. Knowing you makes me a better musician. Playing with you is a priviledge. There are a few musicians who I know I can trust completely when I am playing. I got to play with two of them during Hides last night. Andy and I have played Hides a lot together. Every time is an incredible experience. Sharing that with you, and you sharing your talent, is wonderful. Thank you.

Obviously Hides went well. I wrote this while writing the last message, but it didn't seem appropriate in that message. But it certainly had to be said.
