I think you should disclaim your intention, just to make sure the audience doesn't pelt you with vegetables or ketchup packets or something. But it's a great idea.

Just please have the decency to know your songs well enough so that if different music than the one you thought you were singing starts playing you don't have to blame your band for looking like a total idiot. That's just low class.
