When you take your sweatpants out of the dryer, which they have been sitting in for the last 7 hours, in this sort of weather, with a direct connection to the outside, and put them on as soon as you get them upstairs ...

they will not make you sweat

That's why you start up the drier again for about 2-3 minutes before you put them on...

Warms them up just enough that they're not freezing cold.
