And for some reason, that's one of the few movies that I can always show to film buffs (and people in film school) that they have never seen. Don't know why.
When I was VP and Head Projectionist of the International Film Group, the fourth and smallest of the major film groups at Albany State, we showed King of Hearts at least once a year. This was in the mid-70s, and I haven't seen it since. Even at the time it seemed a bit dated, I think because it was so WWI specific. But that didn't stop it from being beautiful and very moving.
