I got a letter today, let me share the first paragraph.

Dear Eric,

On behalf of the Committee and Staff of Archon, I am writing to invite you to attend Archon 29 in 2005 as our Filking Guest of Honor. The dates will be thursday Sept. 29th through Sunday Oct. 2nd and the convention will be held at the Gateway Center in Collinsville, IL, just a few minutes from downtown St. Louis.

It goes on with all the usual info but ...

I'M A FREAKIN GOH AT ARCHON !!!

Sounds utterly marvelous, and I am quite sure you'll be up to the gig and have a great time so doing. (You'll remember that Louie and I were recently asked to be filk GoHs at WindyCon. Of course we said yes.) Keep us posted as to what develops -- and a few months from now, when it's all happened, write the whole con up so we'll know how it happened.

and I am SO looking forward to seeing you two at Windy. For that matter I hope that you'll be around the weekend of the next Riverfolk show at the Riverview. I'm coming up for that.
