Hmmm, as a fan and not going because of my folks (although I saw some really cool stuff with both of them, but rarely at the same time. let me put it this way, Dad-Stan Kenton, Mom-Peter, Paul & Mary
Elton John on the Yellow Brick Road tour, with Firefall, Steely Dan and Sutherlund Brothers and Quiver

And an amendment for those of us with cool parents: what was the first concert you bought your own tickets for?

pretty much everything I saw in London in 74-75. Jethro Tull, Queen, SAHB and too much more to think of at the moment.

The first album I ever got for myself (well, sort of, my mother bought it but I picked it out) was Rhapsody in Blue done by Andre Previn and Andre Kostelantez (sp?) - I was about 6. The next album I remember buying myself was Queen: Night at the Opera, when I was 12, I think. What can I say, I'm eclectic.

I saw Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Arlo Guthrie, BB King and Flock of Seagulls all in the same venue within a 3 year period.

Richard Thompson and The Buzzcocks/Down By Law/Lunachicks within the same month, at the same venue, and 38 Special in the next town a few months later (where I was a guest of the band)

The thing that was really bad about this ... The Noel Coward had this medley that started the show, 12 songs I think, all tracked individually.
