Recommendations needed

Ok, I have asked various people about this before. I am asking again.

What internet provider would you recommend and why?

I have the money to finally get eric-coleman.com up and going. (thanks to that guy who bought my U2 set list)

Hummingbird. http://www.hummingbirdhosting.com

They're the ones I use. They're cheap, and their tech support is fantastic. I usually receive a response within an hour of sending them an email. And you can host multiple domains, if that's something you'll be needing. Their uptime is good, but not perfect. My sites to go down once in a while, but it's no more than once or twice a year and I've never been down for more than 12 hours.

Speakeasy.net. They're not the cheapest ISP on the planet, but their tech support is exemplary, coming from a network engineer who's had problems with most of the non-local places I've dealt with. And some of the local's as well. In addition, their customer support matches their tech support in how good it is. The few times that I've had any kind of a problem with them, it's been resolved quickly and entirely to my satisfaction.

I have used Hurricane Electric for years. I wouldn't recommend them so much unless you have a working knowledge of Unix, but they're very cheap, reliable, and their tech support is highly competent.

I love ours - very reliable and responsive - but it's our own local co-op, so not useful to you unless you want to colo a server in Chicago.

The site answers all your questions. The tech support is amazing and you cna do as much or as little with them as you choose. It's for all level of users.

Worth Checking

I use ClickHOST.net for Riverfolk. Cheap. No complaints. don't know about tech support, haven't had any problems. I guess that says something though. For domain registration I went through Gandi.
